Located in northern Vermont on the slopes of Mount Mansfield, Stowe is a small town known as the Ski Capital of the East. Lake Champlain is a large freshwater lake on the border between the US and the Canadian province of Quebec, in Lake Champlain Valley between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Mystic Village, on the banks of Mystic River, was a major seaport in this part of Connecticut for centuries. The White Mountains National Forest is an 800,000-acre park in the White Mountains in New Hampshire and Maine.
